PROJECT1:  Pick a popular press article about genetics.  In two pages (double spaced) explain the science behind the article and demonstrate you understand it.  This can be done in groups of up to three people.  Each group will turn in one project.  You must register your articles by 9/15 and give a copy to Darek.  Register fast- an article may be selected by only one group.  Individuals who have not selected an article by 9/15 will be assigned an article and will be expected to complete the assignment alone.

 

PROJECT2:  Read the section of Jurassic park handed out.  Comment on why this technology is not feasible. Use scientific arguments only. You can watch Jurassic Park (the first movie) if you like but should comment on the book exerpt making specific reference to page numbers and quote from the text.  Your summary should be about 3 pages long.  (double spaced)  You may work in groups of up to 3 people.
