Exercise 14          
The concept of this week's exercise is difficult and confusing.  You must have a thorough knowledge in Mendelian genetics, crossing over, PCR, and gel electrophoresis before performing the experiment.  Read Chapter 14 in detail and pay more attention to the section "How Is a Gene Mapped?"  Also review your notes in connection to the Arabidopsis seeds you planted in Lab 11 and studied the F₂ generation in Lab 13. 

In this week you will check your Sordaria plates in order to study the crossing over between  the gene tan and the centromere.

Quiz #3 will be given in the week after the Thanksgiving week, and will cover Exercises 10 to 14.
