Silver Leaf Symptom in Corn
These are images of the "silver leaf" symptom in corn. The westcentral
Indiana field was planted in mid-April and the images taken on May 29 when the
corn was at the V5 to V6 stage of development. See the
accompanying article for more information
about this corn oddity.

Another type of leaf surface damage that may be confused with that due
to radiational cooling is that due to wind- or
sandblasting. Compare the following images and the visual differences
should be apparent.
