urrent “sky high” nitrogen (N) fertilizer prices reinforce the need for growers to closely examine N rates, N sources, and N use efficiency in their farming operations. Purdue Extension agronomists will address these issues and more at five half-day workshops around Indiana beginning the week of 9 January.

The Nitrogen Management Workshops will be held at five different locations: the William H. Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center in West Lafayette (Jan 9); the Northeast Purdue Agricultural Center near Columbia City (Jan 11); the Southeast Purdue Agricultural Center near Butlerville (Jan 13); the Madison County 4-H Fairgrounds in Alexandria (Jan 18); and the Southwest Purdue Agricultural Center near Vincennes (Jan 20). All workshops will begin with check-in at 8:30 a.m. (EST) and conclude by 2:00 p.m.

Topics to be addressed on the program include:

Due to the limited amount of space available at each meeting location, enrollment will be limited and pre-registration will be required. More details, including pre-registration information, is available online at the Web site for the Purdue Crop Diagnostic Training and Research Center at http://www.agry.purdue.edu/dtc/calendar.htm.
