Electronic
As an Extension Agronomist, I have tried to utilize the power of the World Wide Web for two main purposes. The first purpose is to provide access to agricultural information, especially related to the production and management of corn (maize). My intended clientele include farmers, county Extension staff, agricultural industries, news media, agronomists at other universities, and other campus staff.
Some of this information I have developed for the Web myself, some represents links to information developed by public and private organizations from other Corn Belt states. Some of the information is very timely, some is timeless. The ability to provide up-to-the-minute information plus the ability to link to information from others represent the distinct advantages that the WWW has over any previous medium of information technology and communication.

As mentioned above, the ability to easily link to information developed by other agricultural organizations is a powerful advantage of the WWW over earlier communication mediums. My second objective has been to search the Internet for other agricultural information sources and assemble a catalog of URLs to simplify the searches of novice agricultural users of the WWW. Current WWW search engines (Lycos, Alta Vista, etc.) often require extensive time and effort on the part of the user to evaluate the results of even simple searches. I believe it is a responsibility of 'Electric Agriculture' Extensionists to help our clientele easily identify useful and helpful links on the World Wide Web.
