Central Indiana Clay Loams, Regular Population.

Data at these two locations may be used as a guide to the performance of these hybrids on central Indiana clay loams with regular population.

Location 1 is on the Purdue University Agronomy Research Center near Lafayette in Tippecanoe County (James J. Beaty, superintendent), on a Chalmers silty clay loam.    In 1998, the West Lafayette test was planted April 28 at the rate of 24,800 seeds per acre and harvested September 21.  Fertilizer applied was 200 pounds N.

Location 2 is on the Ed Ripberger Farm near Tipton in Tipton County, on a Del Ray silty clay loam.  The Tipton test was planted May 14 at the rate of 24,800 seeds per acre and harvested October 20.  Fertilizer applied was 212 pounds N. 40 pounds P2O5, and 164 pounds K2O .
