Southern Indiana Silt Loams, Regular Population.

Data at these three locations may be used as a guide to the performance of these hybrids on southern Indiana silt loams with regular population.

Location 1 is on T. S. Boyd Farms near Washington in Daviess County, on Iva silt loam, Tom Boyd cooperating.  In 1998, the Washington test was planted May 16 at the rate of 24,800 seeds per acre and harvested October 10.  Fertilizer applied was 193 pounds N, 46 pounds P2O5, 200 pounds K2O.

Location 2 is on the Southeast Purdue Agricultural Center near Butlerville in Jennings County, (Donald J. Biehle, superintendent), on Avonburg silt loam, a light-colored soil with slow permeability.  The Butlerville test was planted May 18, at the rate of 24,800 seeds per acre and harvested October 9.  Fertilizer applied was 150 pounds N, 72 pounds P2O5, and 148 pounds K2O.

Location 3 is on the Mark Kissel Farm near Princeton in Gibson County on Evansville silt loam.  The Princeton test was planted May 16 at the rate of 24,800 seeds per acre and harvested September 24.  Fertilizer applied was 210 pounds N, and 70 pounds P2O5.
