Introducing the Forage Field Guide, a new
publication by Purdue's Crop Diagnostic Training and Research Center.
Similar to the Corn and Soybean Field Guide, it provides information
in a pocket-sized package. The guide is ideal for forage/livestock
producers and the agricultural industries that serve them. Developed
with the input of both producers and industry, the guide contains the
following forage information:
- Establishment
- Renovation
- Pest management (weeds, insects, and disease)
- Soil fertility *Diagnosing herbicide injury
symptoms
- Herbicide use and restrictions
- Harvesting
- Storage
- Animal nutrition needs
- Calendar of practices
- Diagnostic sample submission tips

- Glossary of terms.
The 264-page book features logical, easy to
follow organization and full color photographs throughout. It was
produced cooperatively by Purdue's Crop Diagnostic Training and
Research Center and the Purdue Forage Team. To give you a better idea
of the topical content and quality of the publication, please click on
the PDF attachment. It includes the "Contents" section of the guide
and some representative pages.
The price of the guide is $8 (plus 6% Indiana
sales tax where applicable), but orders of 300 or more will receive a
