Different types of braces are used according to the potential stress on the fence.  The single H-brace on the left is found in a sheep pasture. While the double H-brace below is part of a cattle pasture.

 

 

 

 

The H-braces are further reinforced by cross wires which should not be allowed to touch any hot wires.
