Indiana
Department of Environmental Management (IDEM)
- Protecting the environment is the responsibility of IDEM. The agency
has five major program areas. Air management; environmental response;
pollutions prevention and technical assistance; solid and hazardous waste; water
management.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR)
- The mission of the IDNR is to protect, enhance, preserve and wisely use
natural, cultural and recreational resources for the benefit of Indiana citizens.
Indiana Water Resources Research Center
- One of 54 institutes in the National water Research Institute Program
established by "The Water Resource Research Act of 1964."
Indiana WETnet: A Virtual Water
Resource
- A resource of water-related professionals.
Michiana Irrigation Schedular
- The Michiana Irrigation Scheduler calculates irrigation water needs for corn,
soybean, established alfalfa, dry bean and potato. The Irrigation Schedular can
be downloaded by clicking the above site. The program is a joint effort of
Purdue University Department of Agronomy and Michigan Sate University
Department Crop and Soil Science.

Agronomy Water Quality Research Facilities
- Two fully instrumented field stations which allow graduate study and research
in: soil ecology, pesticide transport, crop systems management, and nutrient cycling.
Safe Drinking Water
- Answers questions such as, "How do I know my drinking water is safe?"
How can protect my drinking water?" "Where can I get more information on
drinking water in Indiana?"
Water Resources of Indiana -- US Geological
Survey
- USGS staff measures streamflow and water quality data as well as
ground water levels throughout Indiana.

Water Works Association
- AWWA is the largest organization of water supply professionals dedicated
to improving drinking water quality.
ARS Water Database
- ARS Database is a collection of precipitation and streamflow data from
small agricultural watersheds in the U.S.
Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC)
- CTIC is a nonprofit, information/data transfer center which promotes
environmentally and economically beneficial natural resource systems. Includes
the Farm Resources Management program and the Know Your Watershed Program

Office of Water
- Provides information on EPA's water programs such as
Groundwater & Drinking Water, Wastewater Management, Wetlands,
Watersheds, and more.
Groundwater Foundation
- The Groundwater Foundation is dedicated to informing the public about
one of our greatest hidden resources--groundwater. Programs offered by the
Groundwater Foundation include the Children's Groundwater Festival,
Groundwater University and the Groundwater Guardian.
National Extension
Water Quality Database
- The database provides computer access to water quality educational
materials prepared by extension specialists throughout the U.S.
National Farmstead Assessment (Farm*A*Syst) and
Home*A*Syst
- Farm*A*Syst and Home*A*Syst are voluntary programs that help
farmers and homeowners to protect groundwater by reducing pollution risks
around their well.
Universities Water Information
Network (UWIN)
- UWIN provides water resources on the Internet for water professionals.
Includes announcements, directories, databases and employment listings.
USDA Water Quality Initiative
- Objectives of the National ES-USDA Water Quality Initiative include the
protection and improvement of the water quality through public issues education.
Water Wiser
- Water Wiser is a reference site for water efficiency, conservation and
water-related resources.
