K Diagnostics - General Crops

Variability in soil exchangeable K levels at a depth interval of 5 to 15 cm (2-6 inches) from sampling areas just 4.6 m (15 feet) apart in one field at a Purdue University Research Farm. Soil series was a contributing - but not the only - factor in accounting for the fertility variability encountered at the beginning of a trial to determine effects of tillage and K placement on lowering variability in seed quality.
