My Responsibilities at Purdue University

     The major position responsibilities are coordinating the Clean Water Indiana Education Program, as well as developing extension soil and water conservation programs for a 7 county area in Central Indiana, with office located at Purdue University. Official duties assigned to this position include:

arrow.gif (211 bytes) Develop an effective educational program regarding the impact of soil erosion on soil productivity, off-site sediment problems, and water quality with emphasis on conservation practices that reduce adverse effects in accordance with the Clean Water Indiana (formerly "T by 2000") goals.

· Develop materials and training programs for educators emphasizing soil and water conservation.
· Develop "on-farm" demonstrations of specific conservation practices.
· Make effective use of audio-visual equipment, computers, and the media in educating the public.

arrow.gif (211 bytes)  Coordinate educational programs and meetings and work closely with Cooperative Extension Service (CES), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Soil & Water Conservation Districts (SWCD’s), and Indiana Department of Natural Resources-Division of Soil Conservation (IDNR-DSC) and encourage districts/counties to work together in developing regional meetings on soil and water conservation issues.
