Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center

The new Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center has been named the Daniel (William H.) Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center in honor of the late Bill Daniel, Purdue University Professor Emeritus. Dr. Daniel retired from the Department of Agronomy at Purdue in 1985 after 35 years of teaching, extension, and research. During his tenure as Turfgrass Professor he helped 230 students earn a Bachelor of Science degree, 22 a Masters of Science degree and 17 a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He developed the PURR-Wick system and Prescription Athletic Turf (PAT). Dr. Daniel was an active leader in the turf industry all throughout his career and beyond. Many honors were bestowed on Dr. Daniel during his career. One honor is the Daniel Scholarship awarded to a turf student each year.
