Navigating the EQIP Jungle

Presentation synopsis: Barry Fisher and Tony Bailey, NRCS Indiana, will provide an update on the 2008 Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP).  The update will include EQIP eligibility issues, eligible conservation practices, as well as conservation practice bundles.  Emphasis will also be placed on how CCAs and Technical Service Providers (TSPs) can provide assistance to their producers involved in EQIP.

Tony serves on the NRCS State Office Technology Staff with special emphasis on nutrient and pest management issues and as the State TSP Coordinator.  In his 19+ years with NRCS he has worked in Jennings, Miami, Monroe, St. Joseph and White County Field Offices and as the Area Conservation Agronomist for NW Indiana.  He has been a CCA since 1995.

Barry Fisher serves on the Technology Staff for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Indiana. He provides agronomic training and assistance to NRCS Field Offices and directs activities of the Indiana Conservation Tillage Initiative (ICTI) advancing conservation tillage technology and identifying successful steps to the adoption of No-Till and High Residue Farming.
