Bill Wiebold State Extension Specialist for Soybean and Corn

Dr. Wiebold is the state extension specialist for soybean and corn. In that position, he is responsible for extension and applied research programs that develop cropping systems that enhance productivity, improve income stability, and protect the environment. Examples of recent applied research thrusts include precision agriculture, remote sensing, optimum plant density, conservation tillage, and crop rotation. He also serves as the extension program director for the Division of Plant Sciences. Additional responsibilities include director of the MU Variety Testing Program, coordinator of the MU IPM Program, and instructor for an undergraduate course, Grain Crops. Dr. Wiebold is president of the Crop Science Society of America, a professional science organization with nearly 5,000 members.
