You can tell this is Buckhorn because of the rosette-like growth pattern.  The Buckhorn plant has large, narrow, dark green leaves.  The seeds of the Buckhorn plant are oblong shaped and will very from light brown to almost black in color.  The seed is also indented on one side causing the seed to have a canoe shape.  The seed is shiny.  Another defining feature of the plant is that it has a deep taproot system.
