Educational material and programs about soils and their management are available through the local Purdue Cooperative Extension Service (CES) office. Publications are available from the Media Distribution Center (See Chapter V). The local Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), the Soil Conservation Division of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), and the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provide educational programs and technical assistance for erosion control and soil conservation. Soil surveys, available from SWCD and NRCS offices, provide information about specific soils.
